Serenade
My fairytale and my fantasy,
My charming flower of mystery,
My magic vision of morning
grace
That keeps on shining and
never fades –
I have depicted you many
times.
Instead of colours,
I used my rhymes,
And every portrait that I
could make
Could only capture one single
trait.
A flame to kindle, a spark to
light,
Ideas brought to my dreaming
mind;
I have been drawing from this
deep well
And finding stories that I
could tell.
I’ve been admiring you for
this while;
It gave me power to fly so
high.
I never said what you meant to
me,
But I was sure that you could
see.
From smaller pictures, a big
one’s formed;
From many ballads, an anthem’s
born.
My lady fair, my guiding star,
Accept this song from your
faithful bard.
